Physiotherapist
I have recently joined Brighton Beach Physiotherapy and am excited to be part of a team that offers a holistic approach to preventative health care, pain and injuries.
I completed my physiotherapy degree at Otago University in 2004 and since then have also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine and Post Graduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture (AUT). I am from the South Island of New Zealand and have worked in Dunedin and Tauranga for 6 years before moving over to Perth in January 2011….it’s been a great move as I love it here!! My particular interest is in Sports Physiotherapy and I have a vast experience with rugby union teams in NZ including assisting with provincial and national level teams.
I enjoy staying fit and active and my main sport is boxing. I competed as an amateur boxer in NZ and I currently hold the Welterweight Title after winning Nationals in September last year!! A very proud achievement of mine to date!! I have moved here with my partner and step-daughter and we love our new lifestyle. In my free time I love cooking and entertaining and we are enjoying exploring Perth every weekend.
I have always believed that physiotherapy is a two way street and I get great satisfaction from teaching my clients how to understand their conditions and how to look after themselves. Physiotherapy can be a very positive experience in one’s life!!
My skills include:
- Western Acupuncture/Dry Needling
- Spinal Manipulation and Manual Therapy
- Foot Biomechanics and Orthotics
- Sports Massage
