Hydrotherapy
In the water a person experiences buoyancy as well as gravity. All movements are submerged and performed against the waters’ resistance so strengthening exercises are simple to do buoyancy allows us to move our levers (arms or legs) easier & further with minimum effort but being supported through the whole range. We do make use of aids or buoyancy equipment in the pool- barbells, tubes, hand & ankle floats, chairs/steps in water, pool buoys etc. These are used to assist, support or resist the movement.
Our promise to you:
- We tailor individual programs to the patients needs
- Self management is encouraged
- Safe way to exercise which everyone can do- even those people who cannot swim.
- The pool program compliments the land-based, weight bearing programs the patients are following.
All hydrotherapy sessions are carried out on an individual basis.
Our Physiotherapist is usually able to make arrangements to join you at your local hydrotherapy pool. Certain exercises can be performed in a home spa.
(Consultation, pool entry & travelling fees apply)
